Liam and his buddies

In his short time on this planet, Liam has managed to make quite a few buddies. Some are inherited from Mark and I, but others he's made on his own. Here is a short homage to a few of them. Disclaimer: taking a picture of two toddlers that has both of them looking at the camera is next to impossible...so you take what you can get!

Here is Liam with Pablo on our last trip to Chicago...

And Liam with buddy Henry on our wilderness adventure near Natural Bridge State Park...

And Liam with his gal pal Caron (he picked her out all on his own at swimming lessons) at the awesome splash park downtown...

And with his favorite buddy of all, Daddy, at the St. Raphael Church picnic.

What I love so far about summertime in Louisville? All the catholic church picnics! Bingo, beer (well, no beer for me this summer), homemade chicken dinners...I'm in festival heaven! I've already had to swear off funnel cake for the season after getting sick one too many times. Good times.

Strawberry Pickin'

Today Liam and I went to Huber Orchard in Southern Indiana with Mark's mom. It was a beautiful day and we really had a good time picking strawberries. Liam especially liked riding the tractor out to the strawberry patch. He really had an eye for finding those berries!

He also enjoyed eating them, stem and all. We couldn't leave him unattended for a minute, because he didn't care if they were rotten or not! I'd go to pick a berry and turn around, and there would be Liam, juice running down his face and arms from fresh strawberries!

We finally had to take him out of the patch and take turns picking berries while the other one entertained Liam. Here you can see Jean slaving away in the background!

It was a great day, and we are excited to make this an annual tradition. Hard to believe that next year we'll have another kid in tow!

Thanks to Staub

In the last few days, I have undertaken the huge task of organizing my electronic life, which includes everything from my old work files to school files to photos back to 2005. Mark and I have failed at staying on top of this, and in an effort to "organize" our life before our next child enters the world and leaves us with no time, I have categorized, backed up, and stored our life history together (well, our history since Christmas 2004, when my in-laws purchased us our first digital camera). Which, of course, has given me many ideas about blog posts. I am borrowing these photos from Julie's Flickr because she's such a great photographer, and she makes Liam look like a little JCrew model. These were taken at Monica and Tim's wedding back in May. Since then, I have been to two more weddings and will potential post some photos of those...we'll see.

Oh, and this one's of Emily, not of Liam, but I swear it's probably one of my favorite pictures of all time. Ah, the emotions that flow at a love-filled wedding ceremony. Too sweet (and hilarious, for those of us who know and love the subject!).
