Liam's adventure

Liam and I had a great time visiting friends in Chicago and Iowa, and he did really well in the car, considering the long journey. First, we went to Libertyville and saw many friends, including a trip to the children's museum with Luca. Luca and Liam are always instant buddies the minute they see one another!

This picture just doesn't do the hugging and kissing these boys do justice, but it was all we could catch on camera!

Liam loved the water room at the children's museum.

And he also liked the "Doll Day Care", where he rocked and swaddled a baby doll (getting practice for his new bro or sis, no doubt!)

Liam has discovered his inner drummer (thanks to his daddy!).

After we left Chicago, we headed to Iowa for Monica and Tim's wedding. It was beautiful! Congrats to my good friends. I don't have any photos from the wedding (you try taking pictures while chasing a toddler around...), but Tara and Josh captured it nicely.

We stayed with Mary Beth, Joey, and Muji in Fort Dodge en route to the wedding in Des Moines. Liam and Muji got along fabulously.

Liam is getting so big...he's really in to feeding himself and has finally mastered the "bite and pull" (as we call it) technique, which means I can give him a piece of food without cutting or tearing it up in to pieces, or worrying that he'll shove the whole thing in his mouth and choke.

Here he is trying ketchup for the first time (a new fav, in moderation). Thank heaven for McD's play place on long road trips!

Liam the Builder

After a recent trip to Ikea left me putting together several pieces of furniture, I realized that Liam really likes to try to "fix" things. Rather than have him running through the house with a phillips screwdriver in hand, I picked him up a Bob the Builder toolbelt, complete with hat, screwdriver, hammer, measuring tape, pliers, and wrench. Who knows, maybe he'll be the next Bob Vila!

At Last

Greetings. I know that I have been a terrible blogger lately, and I do apologize. Hopefully, the following photos will make up for my stale blogness.

We are enjoying the spring weather here in Kentucky, which is nice and warm. Liam has discovered how yummy ice cream can be on a nice spring day...

Unless it's lemon sorbet! (but after making this face he continued to devour the entire cone, making the same face after every bite.)

Here is Liam preparing for entry in a wet onesie contest. He loves to get ahold of Mommy's water glass and try to drink "wa-wa". This happened one morning as I was brushing my teeth and he became eerily quiet, which I always know means he's up to something. I looked out of the bathroom and there he was, soaking wet, saying "wa-wa! wa-wa!". By the way, you can't help but notice his busted up nose, I'm sure. Learning to walk comes with issues, particularly when you are trying to keep up with all the 2 and 3 year olds in our neighborhood! It's healed now.

Looking cute in his summery jammies...

Stealing a sip of Mommy's iced tea

And his new favorite, feeding himself chocolate pudding. Messy, but worth it for the cute picture!

I'll try to be better with the blog updates this month...and we'll see how that goes!
